i fear some things will never change.
este libro significa mucho para mi. el cuento está llenado con buenas ideas y experiencias para traer una nueva perspectiva al mundo con muchas posibilidades. le me ha motivado a enfocar más en los aspectos económicos en reduciendo la pobreza.
What might the world be like if people listened to this man? If they understood that his only agenda is to promote justice, accountability, safety, critical thinking and argument, and transparency in government? If only we could stop choosing the lesser of two evils and choose good? WATCH THIS MOVIE
Check out the latest Smile Politely installment on Wuqu’ Kawoq. An interview with Dr. Malcolm Hill about his 5+ years of working with WK in Guatemala as a volunteer physician. Fantastic interview Mike!
The Razor’s Edge by W. Somerset Maugham is a glimpse at the lives of 6 individuals and how they intertwine themselves over the course of many years. I was enamored by how it made me feel present in the States, London, Paris and the Riviera of high socialites in the early 20th century, between wars. Somerset Maugham’s insights reveal the trivial matters on which so many of these high society members focused, the passions of all walks of life, and the sheer coincidence that brings all things together. I feel I have little time to read fiction most days, but this time was extremely well spent.

Wuqu’ Kawoq receives about %70 of our income from individual donors and this is why our donors are so important to WK. Without the donors, we would not be able to do any of the work that we do to provide proper healthcare and human services in a culturally appropriate way to the indigenous Maya people of Guatemala.
We especially value those donors who have sustained their support for WK over the years. We are running a special sustained donor campaign right now to help increase the amount of donors we have contributing just $10 every month. Just $10 each month can provide:
- medicine for one month for a child with heart disease
- 1 month of milk formula for a child with special needs
- lodging and food for the family of a hospitalized patient
- laboratory tests for a patient about to undergo surgery
Our sustained donors will receive the following benefits from WK:
- A signed certificate recognizing your commitment to helping others
- Recognition on our website and in our annual report in a special section (if you wish)
- Bi-monthly newsletters
- Regular email updates on our projects so that you will always have up-to-date information on where your money is going.
